You know that staying relevant is important on Pinterest, because when Pinterest sees that you pin relevant content that users want to pin, it will send you more traffic!
One of the best (and most fun!) ways to stay current is to create seasonal boards for upcoming holidays and seasons. Pinners are always looking for new ideas to celebrate and enjoy the upcoming seasons, so those topics are always trending.
Quick review of seasonal boards:
You know how you start seeing swimsuits in department stores in March? And how Christmas decorations show up in September or August? The same applies here. The stores know what they’re doing!
Read more about why you should create seasonal and trending boards here.
Make sure to create your seasonal boards at least six weeks before the season actually starts, because this is when people start thinking about it.
Pin to those boards regularly until the holiday or season passes. Then, simply make that board secret once the season has passed.
This is important, because when that time rolls around again the following year, you can just make the board public again and keep pinning! No need to start from scratch.
If seasonal boards and topics relate directly to your business, that’s perfect! Make boards around that.
It’s also okay if those boards don’t directly relate, as long as they have content your audience likes. That way, they’ll still repin your stuff, follow your account, and Pinterest will reward you with traffic because it sees you as a relevant pinner.
Fun Ideas for Seasonal Boards
We’ve listed some popular seasons and holidays along with board ideas for each. Pick the ones that relate to your business or that your audience is interested in.
Of course, you can just do a general board and pin anything that has to do with that holiday or season. But sometimes it’s fun to be more specific, and if pinners are searching for specific ideas, you have a better chance of getting found.
For example, if someone searches “summer activities for toddlers” you stand a better chance of getting found if you have a board for summer activities for children than if you just have a “Summer” board. You’ll also attract the kind of audience you want!
Some ideas apply to pretty much any season or holiday. These are a great place to start if you’re totally stumped, but narrow them down if you can!
Ideas that apply to any season or holiday:
-Photography and inspiration (people love to pin beautiful pictures and quotes that capture the mood of the season)

Pinterest Wave helps you create an incentive for your audience to repin your content, so your audience does a lot of the work for you! This is the exact system I used to grow my sales from 4 per day to a sale every 14 minutes.
It’s easy to set up, and you get to try it for free!
